Goats removed from Goat Island ahead of Tropical Storm Ian

The beloved goats on goat island in Murrells Inlet are being removed Thursday morning ahead of severe weather impacts from Tropical Storm Ian.

They will be taken to a nearby farm to wait out the storm and then return to the island after the threat passes.

The goats live on Goat Island every year from April through November. They help keep the undergrowth under control.
