The Eureka Police Department is warning business owners to be aware of a potential scam attempt where callers are reportedly impersonating officers and asking for private details.

According to the EPD, at least two businesses called the department and reported that a caller had contacted them and identified themselves as a member of the EPD. The callers then asked about the business' finances before asking them to deliver money to specific locations.

Officials say that they are investigating both incidents and have asked owners to report any additional calls. The department also stated that EPD will never call a business to ask about finances or request a money transfer or delivery.
