EUREKA, Calif. — Andrew Cunningham, the Eureka man accused of child molestation, reappeared in court Friday morning, June 1, where his bail was increased to $2.5 million.
The people had requested the judge not grant the defendant bail, however the judge instead increased bail. The new amount is an additional $1 million on top of the $1.5 million that was previously assessed. During the hearing, the prosecutor also claimed that investigators found 48,000 child porn images on the defendant's computer. The defendant was handcuffed and placed back into custody following the hearing.
The father of Cunningham's alleged victims also addressed the court about why Cunningham's bail should be increased, and was visibly upset, speaking out during a statement made by the defense.
