Juror shortage causing issues for Humboldt County Superior Court

EUREKA, Calif. — The Humboldt County Superior Court is reportedly facing a shortage of potential jurors that they say is causing a delay in justice.

In a press release, the court stated that prospective jurors have failed to appear at court, an issue that the court is calling "...a barrier to justice for citizens who are facing criminal charges as well as those attempting to seek civil justice in our courts."

The court recognized that jury service may impact daily lives, but even so, it is asking all summoned jurors to appear at the designated time to fulfill their civic duty.
