EUREKA, Calif. — A new appointee is expected to join the Humboldt County District 4 Planning Commission.
District 4 supervisor Natalie Arroyo announced that Lonyx Landry would be the new planning commissioner beginning on Jan. 24 if the supervisors accepted him to the board.
"It’s an exciting time for Humboldt County, and I believe Lonyx will serve the 4th District very well and bring a fresh perspective to planning-related matters," Arroyo said in a press release.
Landry is a councilmember of the Northern California Indian Development Council as a member of the Nor Rel Muk Wintu Nation.
He has also been a leader and advisor at Cal Poly Humboldt as part of their Indian natural resources, science and engineering program.
Landry looks forward to bringing his local knowledge and perspective as part of the commission.
