After weeks of investigation, detectives with the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect they say shot and killed a man nearAdventist Health Mendocino Coast in Fort Bragg.

According to the MCSO, on Aug. 8 deputies found the body of Daniel Shealor, with an apparent gunshot wound near the 3100 block of U.S. Highway 20. An autopsy of his body later determined the cause of death to be homicide.

Detectives reportedly spent two weeks conducting a follow-up investigation, interviewing multiple witnesses, before gaining enough probable cause to nameShayne Wrede as the suspect in the shooting.

Wrede was reportedly out on bail and had failed to appear inMendocino County Superior Court, resulting in afelony arrest warrant being issued for his arrest.

On Aug. 25, members of the U.S. Marshal Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force reportedly saw Wrede along the3800 block of Roseville Road in Sacramento and attempted to arrest him, however, he was able to escape. Wrede was eventually found during a search of the nearby area later that day and transported back to Mendocino County.

Wrede was booked into Mendocino County Jail on multiple charges, including murder, andwas to be held in lieu of $575,000 bail.
