EUREKA, Calif. — The National Weather Service is reminding residents of its annual Tsunami Warning Communications test on Wednesday, March 29.
In Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties the test will interrupt some TV and radio broadcasts and turn on tsunami sirens.
The test will be from 11 a.m. to noon and some local jurisdictions may be testing reverse calling systems.
The organization says the purpose of the test is to ensure alert systems and interruptions across broadcasting are working properly during the event of a real tsunami.
