EUREKA, Calif. — The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman after the person she stole a car from was chasing her around Eureka.
On Tuesday around 1:37 a.m., HCSO deputies on patrol in the south Eureka area, said they saw a Dodge Ram truck tailgating a Toyota Sienna driver that was driving recklessly onnorthbound U.S. Highway 101.
Both cars took the exit on Herrick Avenue and proceeded to violate several traffic laws. Deputies said they pulled over the Dodge in the area of Herrick Avenue and Elk River Road. While investigating, the driver of the Dodge told deputies that the car he had been chasing was stolen from his property in Rio Dell. During their discussion, the driver of the Sienna returned to the area, according to the HCSO. Deputies detained the driver, 26-year-oldJerri Rebekah Cardelli, without incident.
Cardelli was arrested and booked in Humboldt County Jail on charges of car theft and reckless driving. The driver of the Dodge was cited and released on charges of reckless driving.
